ST. PATRICK'S DEMOLITION
Demolition of Seton Middle School is underway on Nicolet Blvd. St. Patrick's Parish was built on its present site in 1883. In 1938, the original school building was replaced. This is the building that runs parallel to Washington street (along with the gym). The east wing of the school was built in 1960. In 1986, after 119 years, the decision was made to close St. Patrick's School.
The building re-opened in 1989 to house Seton Middle School. Seton Middle School, which was part of the Twin City Catholic Education System (TCCES), was closed at the end of the school year last June. A new facility was built near St. Mary Catholic High School in Neenah. After July 1st, the school system officially changed its name to St. Mary Catholic Schools (SMCS).
I've added a link which provides a great deal of St Patrick's Parish history. The present day parishioners of St. Patrick's plan to have a "green space" and want to maintain the land for future generations, just as earlier generations did for them.
