Volunteers of the Year!
Each year the Doty Island Development Council (DIDC) recognizes a member of our community who gives their time and effort to improve life on Doty Island. This year DIDC is recognizing a couple that has given a lot of their time and expect so very little in return. With their brand of sunshine and spirit, Ken and Shelly Baeten serve up more than just delicious comfort food and warm coffee; they give back in ways that impact everyone around them, everyday.
Over the years Ken and Shelly have participated in many events benefitting their community both on and off Doty Island - too many to list here! A few examples include participating in the Neenah Farmers Market, Girls on the Run, various personal fundraisers (such as local chili cook-offs), and various church functions. They are constantly organizing or volunteering for a new project or participating in another benefit.
Ken and Shelly were presented with a Volunteer of the Year plaque during our Annual Membership Meeting held on Thursday, November 10th. Please take the time to stop by Shellattes and thank Ken and Shelly for all their contributions and hard work!
