Sunday's Tour of Roosevelt School
REMINDER: Tomorrow's public tour of Roosevelt School is from 1pm-3pm. As taken from the Neenah Joint School District website: The public is invited to rekindle their memories and experiences at Roosevelt School with a walkthrough of the 100-year-old building on Sunday, March 19 from 1-3 p.m. The event will feature an opportunity for the public to take a self-guided tour of the school that will close at the end of the 2022-23 school year. There will be photos and memorabilia posted around the building and current staff members will help answer questions and provide assistance. There is no need to register in advance and people are welcome to arrive anytime in the two-hour window. Roosevelt opened on September 17, 1923 at a cost of slightly more than $78,000. A gym was added the following year and other additions were completed in 1969, 1990 and 1996. It currently houses one class at each grade level, along with the Alliance Charter Elementary School. Roosevelt has been sold for $1 million to John Bergstrom. The current Roosevelt students will attend Horace Mann Elementary in 2023-24, while Alliance will occupy the current Wilson Elementary School building next fall.
